Bina Darulaman Bags RM251.7 Mil Kedah State Road Maintenance Job

KUALA LUMPUR (May 20): Bina Darulaman Bhd’s wholly owned unit, BDB Infra Sdn Bhd, has bagged a RM251.7 million road maintenance project from the Kedah state government.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the company said the letter, dated April 30, 2026, was received on May 17, 2026, and appoints BDB Infra to undertake state road maintenance works for a period of 60 months.

The project covers several districts in Kedah, namely Kota Setar, Kubang Pasu, Padang Terap, and Pokok Sena, with site possession scheduled to begin on June 1, 2026, and completion expected by May 31, 2031.

BDB Infra, a G7-class contractor specialising in road construction in northern Malaysia, is expected to execute the project over the five-year duration.

The group said the contract is expected to contribute positively to its earnings for the financial years ending 2026 through 2031.

The investment holding company of the Kedah state is involved in property development, engineering and construction, road building, and quarry operations, as well as leisure.

For the financial year ended Dec 31, 2025 (FY2025), BDB reported a net loss of RM16.80 million, mainly due to delays in property project launches and lower margins from infrastructure projects nearing completion.

However, the group’s revenue increased to RM330.71 million, compared with RM294.74 million in the previous year.

At Wednesday’s midday break, Bina Darulaman shares closed unchanged at 19.5 sen, valuing the company at RM59.25 million. The stock is down 25% over the last year.
